BUSINESS SERVICES COMMUNICATION & SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR, TENNANT CREEK NT ASO Level 7.1 – 7.4 ($80,739 - $90,235)
This position has a strong incentive salary packaging, subsided accommodation (applicants outside Barkley region), relocation assistant, 6 weeks annual leave, professional development, remote retention allowance, access to Health Clinic.
DUTIES
- Manage the creation of communication materials, including engagement plans, media releases for approval, newsletters, flyers, display materials and speech notes as requested.
- Engage organisations Health services with the community and key stakeholders by developing and maintaining content across social media platforms and the website.
- Support trainees and entry level administration officers to grow their skills in digital and social media.
- Provide communication guidance and support to the Executive Leadership Team covering media and issues management, community engagement, and communication strategies using appropriate tools.
- Plan and oversee essential communication activities such as launches, media opportunities, and other events ensuring appropriate approval is sought.
- Offer training, advice, and support to our staff to enhance communication skills and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.
- Develop and implement communication strategies, activities, procedures, and policies to help Health organisations achieve its strategic objectives.
- Oversee and maintain all Health’s communication channels and promotional activities across all platforms.
- Oversee the Health’s SharePoint and intranet including making relevant updates.
- Contribute to the Strategic Plan and other special projects as requested.
- Maintain good business relations with stakeholders and partner agencies to meet service needs and general enquiries.
- On occasion, required to work in other sections and programs to provide administrative support as needed to maintain business continuity during periods of leave or other absences.
- Undertake other duties at the direction of the Executive Manager Business Services, Chief Executive Officer and/or Executive Managers. This position is expected to contribute to the whole of Health’s activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA - essential
- Respect for traditional Aboriginal Culture and the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people.
- Responsiveness to the needs of individual stakeholders, management, and other staff.
- Experience and qualifications in media, communications or social media.
- High level of organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and apply time management practices.
- Highly competent IT skills including computer software packages such as TEAMS, Publisher and Canva, Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and with limited supervision.
- Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills including a demonstrated ability to network and liaise with a range of other service providers.
- Be in possession of, or have the ability, to obtain an OCHRE card (Working with Children).
- Maintenance of current NT Licence.
Desirable
- Experience in web maintenance and the developing and/or managing the implementation of social media communications frameworks.
- Have or prepared to undertake a qualification and training in social media and communications. (Certificate IV/Diploma in Media, Communications or similar).
