SENIOR PEOPLE & CAPABILITY ADVISOR, TENNANT CREEK – Salary ASO Level 8.1 – 8.4 ($92,912 $109,015) plus Benefits
Are you passionate about working with Aboriginal communities to support their health and wellbeing? Do you have experience in human resources and a strong understanding of cultural competency and diversity?
We are seeking a Senior People and Capability Advisor to join a Aboriginal health organisation in Tennant Creek to help create a positive and inclusive workplace environment for their staff. In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice on people and capability issues, developing HR policies and procedures, and conducting training and development programs to support our staff.
The ideal candidate will have a background in human resources, with experience working in the health sector and a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and values. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
- Respect for and responsiveness to Aboriginal culture and protocols including support for Aboriginal self-determination.
- A qualification (or substantially completed) in Human Resources and/or demonstrated experience of no less than two years’ experience in recruitment/human resources administration and/or office administration, and knowledge of OH&S legislation and its application in the workplace.
- Knowledge of your role in an Aboriginal community-controlled environment, and understanding of issues pertaining to recruitment or human resources management in a cross-cultural environment.
- Experience or understating of recruiting and have demonstrated skills in database
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work responsibly including the ability to plan and use time effectively
- An ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.
- An ability to maintain the confidential nature of human resources work.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
Desirable
- Recruitment administration or similar experience.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
- Membership for AHRI.
