Groundsman & Maintenance Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and reliable Groundsman & Maintenance Officer to join our team at a dynamic secondary school in Darwin. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is committed to maintaining a high standard of grounds and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain condition and appearance of lawns and grounds
• Mowing, watering, weed management and fertilising lawns as required
• Planting, trimming, mulching shrubs and trees
• Irrigation installs and timers programming
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment and materials
• In the absence of the maintenance officer, assist with general repairs and goods collection
• Following applicable safety guidelines and procedures
• Performing other duties as required

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or a similar role is highly desirable.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word and Edge
• Northern Territory driver’s licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle
• Proficient with operating groundskeeping equipment such as ride on lawn mowers
• Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) is essential or the ability to obtain.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• A proactive and reliable work ethic with attention to detail.
