Customer Connections Officer – Alice Springs, NT

 

ALL Aspects Recruitment & HR Services are currently hiring for a Customer Connections Officer to join their client’s team for a period of 3 months – with the option to extend.

 

Start data: asap, based in Alice Springs

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – full time, Monday to Friday.

Rate: $94.97per hour

Primary Objective:

Manage a centre of excellence for customer related connections and coordinate with electrical installers, retailers, consultants and internal work groups to ensure customers’ new electrical connections and upgraded connections are completed within nominated timeframes and in line with electricity supply industry codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule customer connections including Point of Entry, Notices of Intentions, Certificates of Compliance, Low Voltage Service, Connection Non-Compliance Reports, Notices of Improvements, NBN installations on Assets, associated paperwork for electricity load supply installations and Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) applications.
  • Work with personal to determine suitable points of supply/metering requirements for requested Negotiated Connection applications and coordinate connection applications for basic and unmetered connection applications and carry out final audits on customer’s electrical installations for residential and development power clearance compliance.
  • Coordinate with installers and work groups to ensure all works are completed within required AER timeframes and, work with installers/retailers and work groups to provide advice and clarification to customers regarding all customer connection progress.
  • Support field-based crews by coordinating the Isolation of services to allow the safe installation of meters by field crews, in line with metering manual. Support field-based crews by coordinating the connection of basic service connections between the customer, electricians and field crews.
  • Interpret, review and approve electrical connection design drawings to ensure compliance with the NT NER, AS 3000, AS4777, standards and relevant legislation.

Essential Qualifications & Skill

  • An AQF certificate III or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in Electrical Engineering
  • NT Electrical License (or interstate equivalent) and a Class C or equivalent Driver License
  • Highly developed and experience in the interpretation of the NT NER Chapter 5A negotiated connection process, AS 3000, AS4777 compliance and electrical connection design compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of schematic electrical connection design drawings and compliance with AS 3000 (Electrical wiring rules) and implemented onsite for all connections.
  • Well-developed interpersonal/ negotiation skills, ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people including internal/external customers and stakeholders and different cultures.
  • Knowledge of basic micro embedded generation connection technical requirement specifications
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of service installation rules, service rules and meter manual, and basic micro EG connection technical requirements and how they are applied in the Northern Territory environment.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high level project coordinated management services to ensure the timely delivery of customer connections, including residential and commercial and PV connections.
  • Experience using data and asset management packages including Gen Track, Power View and Maximo, or similar system and capability to use standard computer software programs

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of service installation rules, service rules and meter

manual, and basic micro EG connection technical requirements and how they are applied in the NT.

  • Well-developed communication skills, with demonstrated experience conveying information accurately, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated experience delivering high level project coordinated management services to ensure timely delivery of customer connections, including residential/commercial and PV connections.
  • Experience in data/asset management packages including Gen Track, Power View and

Maximo, or similar systems.

  • Demonstrated capability to use standard computer software programs, including Microsoft based

applications, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and software.
