WH&S Document Writer (6-Month Placement)

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive ISO Document Writer for a 6-month placement to join our team in Darwin. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, maintaining, and updating ISO 45001-compliant documentation while ensuring it aligns with both certification requirements and audit standards for our organization.

This is a contractor/labour hire position within the Safety People & Governance Business Unit, reporting to the Senior Manager - HSE.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain comprehensive ISO 45001 documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms to meet certification standards.

- Collaborate with subject matter experts and various business units to ensure documentation accurately reflects operational practices and compliance needs.

- Oversee version control and maintain document registers to ensure all documentation is current and accurately recorded.

- Prepare and submit necessary documentation for audit purposes and effectively respond to any auditor queries.

- Implement updates to documentation based on feedback from both internal and external audits.

- Ensure all safety documentation is accessible, up-to-date, and compliant with ISO 45001 and company standards.

- Support business units with the maintenance and updating of their local safety documentation.

- Achieve finalization of documentation for the Stage 1 Certification Audit by April 2026 and the Stage 2 Certification Audit by June 2026.

- Stay informed on WHS Legislation and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives post-certification.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing ISO 45001 documentation or similar standards.

- Knowledge and understanding of WHS Legislation.

- Experience in managing version control and document registers.

- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Day-to-Day

- Engage with different business units and subject matter experts to gather necessary information for documentation development.

- Update and manage document control systems, ensuring all safety documentation is easily accessible and organized.

- Respond promptly to auditor inquiries and facilitate preparation for audits.

- Provide guidance and support to business units to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 45001 standards.

- Actively contribute feedback and insights for continuous improvement processes and initiatives within the organization.
