Communications Coordinator

Working as part of the Marketing and Communications team, this position provides public relations and marketing services aimed at increasing awareness and encouraging support for our client. The role includes proactive media engagement, management and development of the organization's digital presence and safeguarding its brand and reputation.
The successful candidate will be genuinely interested in news and current events, completely comfortable with building an online presence and finding creative communication solutions while supporting a not-for-profit community orientated organisation.
Selection Criteria
  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or Public Relations.
  • Minimum 5 years of public relations and/or marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with the media to achieve positive brand and reputation results.
  • Ability to identify issues or situations which may impact on the brand and reputation of the organisation.
  • Experience in managing and developing social media content across a number of platforms.
  • Management of website content.
  • Writing skills for media, marketing and promotional purposes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the creation of promotional materials, event management and marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in coordinating community engagement activities aimed at increasing awareness, encouraging participation and providing feedback.
  • Experience in sponsorship and fund raising – desirable.
  • Relevant work experience within a not-for-profit or volunteer organisation – desirable.
  • NT Drivers Licence
  • Current Ochre Card (Working with Children) or be willing to obtain
  • National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain
