The Media and Communications Officer is responsible for providing content, planning, implementing and monitoring the company's social media presence. The position is to provide high quality design services and provide communications support. This position will be required to travel remote and sometimes on vessels at sea.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Provide professional design services and produce high quality communications collateral to support communications objectives including fact sheets, brochures, advertisements for online and print mediums and other materials.
- Provide strategic communications update/reports to managers and staff to maximise public perception and reach, including media issues that may affect the organisation.
- Manage and maintain the Business media presence on various platforms such as the organisation website, Facebook, Linkedin and other social media platforms. Continuously monitor and adapt to emerging social media and industry trends
- Optimise all opportunities for the organisation to promote positive stories about the organisation's operations, people (Board) and other.
- Build and maintain working relationships and professional networks with internal and external stakeholders such as IT professionals, graphic designers and other related fields.
- Investigate new and ongoing events and exhibition (E.g. Expo, Shows) that would be valuable for the organisation to attend and manage the organisation's logistics and presence at events.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven skills in the use of IT including MS Office, Adobe Indesign, photoshop, related desktop and audio and visual programs or and ability to rapidly acquire knowledge for such systems.
- Proven ability to work with clients to effectively manage the delivery of communications collateral and supporting materials.
- Demonstrate high level cross-cultural, interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise, engage and coordinate across a wide range of constituents and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage and maintain ongoing scheduled content for social media platforms.
- Proven ability in photography, videography, editing and publishing.
- Current NT Drivers Licence or equivalent and the ability to travel by light aircraft, off-road vehicles and boats to remote communities.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in related fields or experience in media and graphical design.
- Elements of shipboard safety or willingness to obtain.
- 4x4 off road training and driving experience.
- Elements of First-Aid.
